Sherry’s Sunday Roast

Ingredients

  • 4 lb Chuck Roast

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper

  • 2 Tablespoons Oil

  • 1 large onion in eighths

  • 2 tablespoons beef base

  • 3 tablespoons mustard

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire

  • 4 teaspoons minced garlic

Instructions

  1. Coat the roast with flour, salt, pepper, and oil.

  2. Brown in the skillet. Keep the drippings!

  3. In a slow cooker, combine the roast, onion, beef base, mustard , Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and drippings.

  4. Fill with water until roast is covered.

  5. Add seasoning to taste (we use Shoups).

  6. Cook on High for 2-3 hours the reduce to Low for 2-4 hours.
