Mike’s Amish Aunts Sausage Gravy
Ingredients
1 lb sausage (use a mixture of hot and mild for maximum flavor)
1 stick butter
½ cup flour
6-8 cups of milk
Worcestershire
¼ tsp nutmeg
Biscuits
¼ tsp poultry seasoning
Instructions
Brown your sausage - keep 2 tsp of sausage grease for your rue.
Melt butter in skillet with grease
Slowly stir in flour.
Cook until smooth and bubbly.
Add 6 to 8 cups of milk.
Cook until thickened, stirring often.
Add 3-4 dashes of Worcestershire, nutmeg, and poultry seasoning.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
If you want it spicy, add a few dashes of hot sauce.
Serve over biscuits
Tips
If you want it spicy, make sure to use spicy sausage.
